Senior bureaucrat Arvind Shrivastava took charge as the Secretary of the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.
His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on April 18, 2025.
A 1994-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Karnataka cadre, Shrivastava brings with him extensive experience in economic affairs and public administration. Prior to this role, he served in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), first as Joint Secretary and later as Additional Secretary.
He has previously held key positions in the Ministry of Finance, including Joint Secretary in the Budget Division under the Department of Economic Affairs. His international experience includes a stint as Development Officer at the Asian Development Bank.
In Karnataka, he has served as Secretary in both the Finance and Urban Development Departments in Bengaluru, and as Managing Director of the Urban Infrastructure Development & Finance Corporation.
